Description

311. Professional Nusing Practice - Foundations 6-6-8
This course is an introduction to the role of the professional nurse and the Quality and Safety Essentials of Nursing (QSEN) competencies. Critical thinking and clinical reasoning is emphasized in the role of the direct caregiver. Basic nursing concepts are applied to providing direct care, maintaining patient safety, and achieving quality care. Case study presentations, campus/simulated lab experience, and clinical laboratory experiences will be utilized to teach selected knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for the role of direct caregiver. PR: Admittance to nursing program. CR: NUR 312 and 313.
